Oregon Gov. Kate Brown is directing state regulators to ban all flavored vaping products for six months, including those made with cannabis, in response to the vaping health crisis.

While Brown’s executive order focuses on e-cigarette vaping products targeting youth, it does mention that products from state-licensed marijuana retail stores have been tied to vaping-related illnesses.
According to Charles Boyle, Brown’s press secretary, the exact definition of “flavored” will be determined by the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Liquor Control Commission during the emergency rulemaking process.
The agencies have been given 90 days to develop plans regarding consumer warnings, ingredient disclosure for vaping products and establishing a prevention and education campaign to discourage the use of vaping products, among others.
The order also creates a Vaping Public Health Workgroup to advise the governor and state agencies.
Many Oregon cannabis retailers began pulling vaping products off the shelves last month, soon after the health crisis surfaced.
